who we are..
Hi there...
So we are a family run small business made up of us (Leigh and Jess) and our two small helpers, our children Evie and Gabriel.

We've both worked in theatre for the last twenty years and met whilst we were at University on the same course studying technical theatre - Jess was the year below and likes to remind me of that constantly...
​
Since then, we've been lucky enough to have worked on some of the most amazing shows and productions in our careers with some of the most talented people we could have come across.
​
Two children, three dogs (thats Pippa, our Vizsla in the photo) and many chickens later (yep, we rescue chickens - ask us for some eggs when we see you), we wanted to use our experience in theatre to create events that could bring something different to our customers, starting with our Garden Cinema experience.
With theatre on hold due to the pandemic that unfolded, and it not coming back for a while, we took it as a bit of sign and took the plunge to create Rose and Raff. We've all been involved in creating the Garden Cinema, friends and family have encouraged us and the kids have loved the movie nights we have had working out exactly what we wanted our Big Screen adventure to be.
Jess is in charge of all things creative, making sure we look great, and all things theatrical are in place and tip top - she brings all the drama, style and comfort to the nights. Leigh gets to be the resident geek with all the technology of the big screen system (plus he's our resident Quizmaster- check out the page). And the smallest, and most important members of the team, the kids help us with the sweets, they don't seem to mind that job.

That's us really, and if you've been wondering what the name means, it's the kids middle names (Rose and Rafferty). They mean the world to us and we wouldn't have this small business without them encouraging us along and being super excited about setting it up for new customers.
